A small thin metallic green beetle with a red marking on its tail end, dark legs and antennae. Its body is extending the short shields. It prefers flowers for pollen and small bugs. When threatened it produces a nasty smelling substance. ⇔ l. 5-7 mm LA: Very similar to the family of CANTHARIDAE (Soldier beetles), but they have longer shields that cover the entire body.
