A green cricket with very long antennae and covered in small dark speckles. On both sides of the neck shield is a yellow-white line. The small wings of the ♂ are as long as the neck shield, it has 2 small curved protrusions (cerci) and sometimes a brown back line marking. The wings of the ♀ are even smaller. It has a curved ovipositor and is a little larger than the ♂. Can be found in the shrubbery in parks, gardens and roadsides. ⇔ l. 10-18 mm The sound is not audible by humans. LA: ≈ The MECONEMA THALASSINUM (Oak bush-cricket) has longer wings and a light line marking centrally on the neck shield.
