The upper surface is orange with a black edge, the ♂ is bright orange without markings and the ♀ has brown-black markings. The under surface is faintly orange with distinctive white and black markings. Prefers flower-rich roadsides and forest edges. ⇔ wsp. 27-32 mm LA: ≈ The LYCAENA TITYRUS (Sooty copper) has more markings on the under surface, but non-white. ≈ The other LYCAENA (Coppers) have more blue on the under surface and lack the white markings.
