A green shield bug with 3 small white dots on the centre shield. Some colour variation is possible and towards the winter is browner but the 3 white dots remain. The larvae have 5 stages all with remarkably bright colours. ⇔ l. 12-14 mm syn. NEZARA APPROXIMATE, NEZARA AURANTIACA, CIMEX SMARAGDULUS, CIMEX VIRIDULUS, Green vegetable bug LA: ≈ The PALOMENA PRASINA (Green shield bug) lacks the white dots and the larvae are more green coloured.
