The upper surface ♂ is blue with a thin black border and white fringe. The upper surface ♀ is dark brown with orange markings along the edges with some white fringe, base and body are blueish. Underside for both is grey-brown. Orange eyespots along the outside edge. Centre of the hindwing, features a black, white-edged horizontal stripe with white-edged black markings. Found alongside forest edges, road verges etc. and, it is the most common of its family. ⇔ wsp. 25-30 mm
