Very colourful butterfly, bright orange band on the top surface, brown towards the body, tips on the forewing black/white marked. Along the wing edges blue marks. The underside of the rear wing yellowish, white, red, brown and blue marked. Rear wing grey-brown marked with a small '89' figure. ⇔ wsp. 50-60 mm A migratory butterfly found late in the season on flowers before migrating south.
