Brown swallow with wide wings and almost straight tail, brown-green back, head and tail. A light grey throat and brown-yellowish belly. When flying the white markings on the dark tail stand out. Watching these birds looking for insects along rocky river banks you will notice how agile they are in the air. ⇔ l. 14-15 cm syn. Eurasian crag martin Partly migratory and mainly found in South Europe. LA: ≈ The RIPARIA RIPARIA (Sand martin) is smaller and with a dark breast band on its white belly.
