Mole like mammal with a long motile nose, dark brown top with a lighter belly, a round body with an equally long, unhaired tail. The hind legs are larger than the front legs and have webbed feet. The long nose is bald and has the nostrils at the top, on the side are long probes. It is a water animal that is mainly active at night. It lives in corridors along fast flowing rivers where many small water animals live on which he hunts. ⇔ hbl. 10-13 cm, tl. 12-15 cm Occurs in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. Looks like a mole and belongs to the same family. LA: ≈ The DESMANA MOSCHATA (Russian desman) is bigger and lives in Russia, it has a much thicker tail.
