White butterfly with a particular large dark marking directly behind its head and at the front of the wing edge. The markings partly exist of brown, black or blue lines. Along the rear edge a wide light blue-grey band, the rear edge is frayed. Preference for open forests and forest edges, with blackberry and raspberry. Is rare. ⇔ wsp. 34-38 mm LA: ≈ Very similar to several GEOMETRIDAE (Geometer moths), this one has the clearest markings.
