Brownish beetle with dents on its shield and long antennae. The shield colour is bronze, greenish or black and has length indentations like a chain. The thighs are pinkish as is the start of the antennae, specific for this species. It hunts for invertebrate like other beetles but also carrion. Day-active. ⇔ l. 17-32 mm LA: ≈ The CARABUS GRANULATUS has completely black legs.
