Dark brown with yellow-white moth, especially the edge of the front wing is brown. The rear wings have less brown. The amount of brown varies per individual. The moth is iridescent in certain light. The spots serve as camouflage, it looks like bird droppings. The butterfly is active both during the day and in the evening, also comes down to light sources. The slender caterpillar is bluish green with dark green stripes and a brown head and butt. And lives on Willow, Poplar and other deciduous trees. ⇔ l. 30-36 mm LA: ≈ Looks like the GLYPHODES PERSPECTALIS (Box tree moth) but it has a clear brown edge and a larger wingspan.
