Large orange-black butterfly with long wings. The front wings are half orange-black ending in black-white at the tip. The rear wings are black-orange. Patterns are visible on the under surface as well. ⇔ wsp. 65-75 mm They rest in groups in trees or bushes. There are many subspecies with deviating markings, but the colours are black, orange and white.
