Small gold-orange hairy hoverfly. Yellowish legs with yellow shins with only tiny black markings. The black pattern on its back is specific for this genus PARHELOPHILUS. Often found near water. ⇔ l. 8-10 mm LA: ≈ The HELOPHILUS PENDULUS (Dangling sun-lover) is considerably larger, lighter yellow and less hairy.
