Small Brush-footed butterfly, the wings upper surface is orange with black markings. The ♀ has thicker markings. The under surface has yellow, orange and white with thin black lines. Flies at larger altitudes around 2000 mtr. ⇔ wsp. 24-28 mm LA: Difficult to separate from other members of genus MELITAEA, the lines on the ♂ upper surface front wings are the best indicator.
