Slender butterfly with blue-black wings with 5 dark-edged red markings on its front wing. The rear edge has a small white fringe. The rear wings are black as well and have one red marking. Body, legs and antennae are all black with only a white neck collar. ♀ are a little larger and more greenish-black. Can be found in South Europa and North Africa mostly on Lavander. The caterpillars on other legumes as well. ⇔ wsp. 31-36 mm LA: ≈ ZYGAENA LOTI and the ZYGAENA TRIFOLII (Five-spot Burnet) have red rear wings.
