A sturdy bird with long pale yellow legs, large yellow eyes and a short black tipped yellow beak. The face appears white due to the broad eyebrow combined with white below the eye along the beak. The body is light brown marked with a white band across the wings; the wing tips are black. The belly and throat are white as well. When disturbed they tend to run before flying off. ⇔ l. 39-44 cm LA: ≈ Similar to CHARADRIUS MORINELLUS (Dotterel) which is smaller.
