Small dark hairy spider with remarkably big eyes and short legs. ♂ has striking facial hair, the light hair looks like he has a big wide mouth. He is dark brown with lots of hair, with a pinkish glow on the abdomen. ♀ is very different, she has a dark face and on the abdomen a striking drawing of oblique spots with light edges. Preference for low vegetation in humid environments such as banks of streams. ⇔ l. ♂ 5-6 mm, ♀ 6-8 mm syn. Gorilla spider This family is hunting by sight, hence those big eyes.
