Small dark hairy spider with remarkably big eyes and short legs. ♂ has striking facial hair, the light hair looks like he has a big wide mouth. He is dark brown with lots of hair, with a pinkish glow on the abdomen. ♀ is very different, she has a dark face and on the abdomen a striking drawing of oblique spots with light edges. 

Preference for low vegetation in humid environments such as banks of streams.

This family is hunting by sight, hence those big eyes. The prey is jumped, for this purpose, they also have short, firm legs.
