Small but sturdy yellow beetle with broad black shoulders and long black antennae. The small black head does not stand out against the broad shoulder-shield. The legs are black. ♀ has 2 black dots in front of the back shield and a black length seam, ♂ also have a larger black spot on the back. Often on yellow flowers. ⇔ l. 4-5 mm LA: sometimes difficult to distinguish in the genus CRYPTOCEPHALUS. Looks like a ladybug, but is much more rectangular.
