Beige-brown spider, the body is relatively flat with wide legs, the 2nd pair of legs is slightly longer than the rest. A lighter track runs over the front of the body, the rear-top is light with a darker pattern. The colouration can vary greatly per specimen. Usually found on trees and shrubs looking for prey. ⇔ l. ♂ 3-5 mm, ♀ 5-7 mm These spiders do not make a web but hunt for their prey, thanks to their wide legs they can run quickly in all directions. LA: In the genus PHILODROMUS, the different species are difficult to distinguish. ≈ The TEGENARIA DOMESTICA (Domestic house spider) is rounder and higher on its legs. Moreover, especially found indoors.
