Large green-yellow slender dragonfly. The eyes turn blue. The wing spots are orange-red. First, the eyes are still green and the wing spot yellowish. A Long thin black wave line on the middle of the chest is typical for this type. The sexes have similar markings, ♀ has short straight appendages, as ♂ they are outwards. ⇔ l. 43-50 mm LA: Most GOMPHIDAE (Clubtail dragonflies) have a widened abdomen, are more brightly coloured and the winding line on the side of the thorax is short or missing.
