Black grey cormorant with white throat and breast and a yellow stain at beak base, while breeding sometimes a white side. The young are brown and the young adults have a white belly. ⇔ l. 80-100 cm The largest cormorant in southern Africa and the only one in the sub-Saharan region, these are the freshwater populations.
