Greenish yellow with black-marked breast, black hind body with yellow marks at the front of each segment. Grey-green eyes. The ♂ rear segments are enlarged with rear plier-shaped extrusions. The ♀ has similar colours to the ♂ with sometimes a bit more yellow. Her shape is broader but the hind segments are not enlarged and there are no plier shaped extrusions. Mostly found near streams and rivers with gravel and sand beds. ⇔ l. 50-60 mm
