Large white waterbird with a conspicuous long fat beak. The long feathers on the back and wings are a bit pinkish, the wing tips and fingers are black. Below the large yellow beak, there is yellow extensible skin that can be filled with fish. ♂ gets a lump on the beak while breeding. Sexes are same though the male is larger. A gregarious bird with a preference for not flying. Found both on the sea as inland waters. Does not dive for food but is fishing while floating and sometimes in groups herding the prey. They also steal food from each other or other birds. ⇔ l. 125-180 cm
