Brown head, back and wing feathers are white edged brown, notice the same colouring on the upper leg. Light belly and cheeks, black-ringed beard, fat blue-grey beak. A colony they make 1 huge permanent nest like a lump of hey in a tree or hanging on a phone pole. ⇔ l. 13-14 cm This nest can be over 5 meters wide with sometimes as much as 100 pairs in it from several generations. It is the largest known bird nest. It is used for breeding and resting and nursing is done by the colony. It is well isolated so the inside temperature is reduced during the daytime. Also, other species birds, snakes, lizards use the nest outskirts.
