Little round bird with a very long tail. The back is black brown grey marked, the belly is white with pink. The tail is at least as long as its body with the outside feathers being white. The markings vary by region and are difficult to distinguish. This is a gregarious bird, and unlike many other birds, they like to sit close to each other. Their primary food is larvae, insect eggs and bugs. ⇔ l. 13-15 cm They only migrate if food is scarce. Is more closely related to the PANURUS BIARMICUS (Bearded reedling) despite its name.
