Yellow-green with grey finch, a bright yellow line on the wing edge. Sturdy light coloured beak, grey cap and cheeks with a dark eye-ring with some grey. The tail has a green, yellow and black line. The ♂ can be bright yellow, the ♀ is more olive green and less bright. The yellow and green stand out in flight as is the forked tail. Prefers woodland with open areas to look for seeds. Outside breeding season, travels in small groups that sometimes visit feeding tables. ⇔ l. 14-15 cm syn. CHLORIS CHLORIS
