A large wagtail with a yellow breast, belly and yellow-green rump. A grey back and head and a white eyebrow. While breeding the ♂ has a black throat. Outside the breeding season both ♂and ♀ show a white or small black marking on the croup and some pale yellow colouring. Can be found close to fast flowing mountain streams, not in lowlands. ⇔ l. 17-19 cm LA: ≈ The MOTACILLA FLAVA (Yellow wagtail) has a brown back and yellow throat and can be found in lowlands.
