Small singing bird with an olive-brown back, white yellow belly and throat, light eyebrow, dark brown legs and beak and a roundish head. 

Calls its own name. The tail is often pressed down for stability when sitting. In spring and autumn, it is often seen near banks looking for flies. 

⇔ l. 12-13 cm

Migratory bird returning in central Europe early in spring singing clearly. Winters in south Europe and North Africa.

LA:
The genus PHYLLOSCOPUS (Leaf warbler) look very similar, location and songs are specific.
≈ The PHYLLOSCOPUS SIBILATRIX (Wood warbler) is a little larger and more yellow on head and breast. 
≈ The PHYLLOSCOPUS TROCHILUS (Willow warbler) has lighter legs with a flatter head and is a little slimmer.
