Front wings grey-brown with dark lines, rear wings yellow-orange. A sturdy body with white hair brushes at the side and a black brush at the end. Flies like a Hummingbird from flower to flower extending its long tongue to gather nectar. ⇔ wsp. 36-50 mm LA: ≈ The HEMARIS FUCIFORMIS (Broad-bordered bee hawk-moth) has a red-brown band surrounding the rear body and translucent wings.
