A small butterfly, the ♂ has a light blue upper surface with a thin black edge. The ♀has a brown upper surface with orange eye markings along the rear wings that can also be on the front wings. Both sexes have white fringe along the wing edges with dark markings. The under surface is greyish brown with white-edged black markings and orange along the edges. On the centre of the rear wing, there is a white marking with no or a very small centre. ⇔ wsp. 27-32 mm LA: In this family LYCAENIDAE (Gossamer-winged) mostly, the ♂ is blue and the ♀ brown with a lighter under surface with markings. Generally, the pattern of these markings defines the species.
