Black thick haired bumblebee, yellow front edge on its breast and hind body and a whitetail.

There are several subspecies that vary in colour slightly. Common and found on various flowers. These bumblebees live in colonies underground, with up to 400 individuals, sometimes in abandoned mice burrows, up to 1.5 m in depth.
