Plain chestnut brown songbird with a wide round tail that can be pointed upwards. White grey belly and short round wings. A thin light coloured eyebrow and grey cheeks. It hides along a waterfront but has a very distinctive song, each male has its own song. Moves if there is a very cold period and does not return. ⇔ l. 13-14 cm LA: ≈ The LUSCINIA MEGARHYNCHOS (Nightingale) has no eyebrow and is dark brown. ≈ The TROGLODYTES TROGLODYTES (Wren) is much smaller and looks rounder.
