Brown warbler with a round tail, lighter coloured throat and beige belly. The back and wing feathers are dark with a lighter edge. In the reeds looking for bugs. At twilight, the ♂ sings long, often from a high point in the bushes. ⇔ l. 12-14 cm Migratory bird wintering in Africa. LA: From a distance difficult to separate from other warblers but the singing is more varied and for longer periods. ≈ The LOCUSTELLA LUSCINIOIDES (Savi's warbler) is even coloured brown. ≈ And the ACROCEPHALUS SCHOENOBAENUS (Sedge warbler) has a light eyebrow stripe.
