Small red-brown deer with large ears, black stripes in the ears and a black nose marking, the belly is white. The ♂ has horns. Lives in pairs, but rarely seen together. Finds shade below the trees but also in ground burrows. ⇔ hbl. 70-95 cm, sh. 45-60 cm, tl. 4-6 cm, horns ♂ 9-19 cm syn. Steinbuck, Steinbok
