Blue-green butterfly, the wing edge is curved and on the front wing 3 and on the rear wing 2 faint white horizontal lines. The colour fades to yellow. Prefers deciduous woodland with birch and beech, mostly active at night but looks like a butterfly. The green caterpillar is sturdy and has some lumps in the centre of the back. ⇔ wsp. 50–65 mm
