The upper surface ♂ is dark blue with black veins, black edge and a white fringe. The upper surface of the ♀ is dark brown. The under surface is grey-brown with white-edged black markings, towards the base more blueish. ⇔ wsp. 32-38 mm syn. CYANIRIS SEMIARGUS LA: Many of the blue LYCAENIDAE (Gossamer-winged butterflies) are similar and only separated by pattern and colours.
