The upper surface is brown orange with darker veins and a brown edge. The ♂ has dark scent stripes on its front wings parallel to the veins. The under surface is yellow brown. The antennae have large tips with a black or dark brown under surface. ⇔ wsp. 25-28 mm LA: ≈ The distinguishing feature of the THYMELICUS SYLVESTRIS (Small skipper) is hard to see but the antennae have yellow tips and the scent stripes are diagonally across the wings.
