Pinkish bat with a red brown back and a yellow brown belly. It has a strong musky smell. The bald skin of the wings ears and nose is dark brown in colour. 

Flies fast with sudden swerves like a Swift. Flying altitude is between 5 and 25 meters and it catches insects in flight. Active before dawn. 

⇔ hbl. 6-8 cm, tl. 4-6 cm, span 32-45 cm

Finds tight cavities so it can rest against the sides. Hibernation lasts about 6 months and in summer it is active about 2 hours per day.
