Brown goat-like animal with a distinctive black face and white under jaw, and short curved horns. In summer the fur will be yellowish with a black central line. In winter it is black brown and long, the throat, neck and underbelly are white. Both sexes have short thin horns that curve a little more each year, giving a good indication of its age. An able climber living around the timberline in mountainous areas. In summer gathers in small groups without the older males, which live alone. In winter descending to lower areas in large herds. ⇔ hbl, 90-130 cm, sh. 70-80 cm, tl, 3-8 cm, horns 15-20 cm
