Black brown bovine with large horns and thin skin with long hair, adults are practically bald. Large hoofs and rough-haired ears. Both sexes have horns but those of the ♂ are larger and heavier. Always near water, needed for cooling down and protection against insects. Roams while grazing. ⇔ hbl. 240-300 cm, sh. 150-190 cm, tl. 60-100 cm, horns 50-200 cm syn. BUBALUS ARNEE Originally from Asia but now kept worldwide as work animals or bred for their meat and skin.
