Large brown snail with 3 to 5 beige brown stripes on its shell, the stripes follow the shell curves. The body is grey-brown with a wide base and retractable antennae on its head, the upper ones carry the eyes and the lower ones are used for sensing.

Prefers moist areas, no direct sunlight but also dislikes heavy rain. It eats plants and leaves a mucous trail when it moves.

Hermaphrodite, meaning they can fertilize each other. A prey for many, including humans. It is considered a delicacy and has been introduced in Asia and America.
