The upper surface is dark brown to black, the ♂ often with a blue-green tinge. The under surface is light grey with a blue base and small white-edged black markings. ⇔ wsp. 18-22 mm The Latin name, MINIMUS, refers to the fact it is the smallest local day butterfly. LA: It can be mistaken for a Moth due to its small size but moths keep their wings different.
