Small brown moth with white circles on its wings, the under surface is similar. The antennae are angled backwards over its body. ⇔ wsp. 23-26 mm syn. PHLYCTAENIA CORONATA, PHALAENA CORONATA LA: ≈ The ELOPHILA NYMPHAEATA (Brown China Mark) is lighter in colour, has its wings folded and is found near river banks. ≈ The NYMPHULA NITIDULATA (Beautiful China-mark) is lighter in colour and lives near water.
