Red with black shield bug, the markings are distinctive for this species. The red can range from orange to completely yellow. The belly is red black striped, the antennae and legs are black. Prefers cabbage plants as well as potato or grain. ⇔ l. 7-8 mm LA: ≈ The PYRRHOCORIS APTERUS (Firebug) is not as broad and has freestanding black dots on its shield. ≈ The EURYDEMA DOMINULUS also prefers cabbage and is very similar, the difference is in the neck shield with separated black markings.
