Large green cricket with a brown vertical stripe on its back. The antennae are as long as its wings. The wings of the ♀ extent the ovipositor (for laying eggs) and of the ♂ they almost double the body size.

The female has a large extrusion for laying eggs, the male have two small curved extrusions. They can be heard from midday to midnight and feed on insects including other crickets.

⇔ l. 60-70 mm, half of it being wing size.
