Slender blue-black damselfly, a specific horseshoe-shaped black line just behind the breastplate on the second segment of the rear section. Bluer than most damselflies. The blue of the ♂ is bright to sky blue, for the ♀ more green blue and less bright. Prefers still waters. ⇔ l. 33-35 mm LA: ≈ The second segment for the ENALLAGMA CYATHIGERUM (Common bluet) and COENAGRION PULCHELLUM (Variable damselfly) is darker, however, distinguishing them can be tricky.
