PTEROSTICHUS NIGER, FERONIA NIGRITA LA: There are many similar beetles in this Genus making it hard to determine if this is the correct name. ≈ The GEOTRUPES SPINIGER (Dor beetle) has a rounder shield. ≈ The TIMARCHA TENEBRICOSA (Bloody-nosed beetle) is more round shaped, smoother and with longer legs.
