Small grasshopper with short antennae, a brown length stripe on its head and back. Mostly green but can be brown, yellow or even purple like. The side of the rear section is black marked. The neck shield has a cross dent. Wings of the ♂ are shorter than the body length, for ♀ they only exceed the neck shield a little. On rare occasions, the wings are longer. Prefers sandy places, chirps in the daytime. ⇔ l. 13-22 mm
