A very attractive red-brown moth with yellow-orange markings. The front wings are red-brown with yellow markings and the rear wings brown with a wide yellow marking. Markings and colours are variable though. Day-active moth, mostly found on mint, hence the name. ⇔ wsp. 10-15 mm LA: ≈ The PYRAUSTA PURPURALIS has a different under surface with 2 white bands.
