Long haired black brown fly, the head is brown with a black breast and the rear is brown orange with a wide black vertical band. The long hairs cover the body and legs. Adults feed on flowers while larvae develop inside moth larvae. ⇔ l. 11-15 mm LA: Two species exist. The difference between this and the TACHINA MAGNICORNIS can only be determined by microscopic inspection.
